I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 1C, endometrioid ovarian cancer, on January 2nd, 2019. And just through that journey, it's been very devastating just to learn about how the silent killer can take the lives of so many people.
The Living Lab is a new registry for ovarian cancer and uterine cancer, um, patients and survivors to sign up. So that way, researchers can have central point information in regards to data of how to save our lives for generations to come.
So it's an easy process, but the part that they're needing from us is to get us involved, to get us engaged, so that way there's not different clusters of information, but it's centrally in one spot. So we have rare cancers, and there’s—if you are not familiar with ovarian cancers, there's so many different varieties out there. And so it's really important for us to take advantage of the Living Lab so that way they could have access to just the data of what they need to make cutting-edge medications.
At this time where there's so many questionable things about what's going on and not being able to connect or find resources that will be able to help you, this is something that's going to definitely help cutting-edge medicines in the future and generations to come. And I believe that with Living Labs, this is something we should take heed and share with other people to sign up, and so that way, the more the merrier and we'll be able to help researchers—and for years to come.
By you sharing with someone else, you can definitely save a life. And you never know who you can, can reach by just sharing just a little bit about what you experience.
