Agent-based modeling predicts RAC1 is critical for ovarian cancer metastasis

Manipulation of Rac1 expression and agent-based modeling pinpoint rate-limiting step(s) in ovarian metastasis. More rapid adhesion and intravasation with Rac1 overexpression predict higher tumor cell numbers in a shorter period of time reaching distant sites. Tumor cell crowding along blood vessels reduced cell numbers.
