To verify the role of consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiotherapy for bulky and locally advanced cervical cancer, a meta-analysis was performed. Based on articles published up to Jun 2020 a literature search in PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library was conducted to identify eligible studies. A total of 4 articles consisting of 1659 patients were enrolled. The pooled results revealed that overall survival (OS) of patients treated with consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT + CT) was significantly superior to concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) alone (HR = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.69-0.88,
