Ultrasound Findings in a Case of Early‐Stage Endometrial Cancer With Atypical Lung Metastasis
ABSTRACTWe present a unique case of early‐stage endometrial cancer in a 61‐year‐old woman. The patient initially presented with an isolated endometrial plaque on imaging, which over time developed into a hump‐like projection extending inward to the uterine cavity and developing a tongue‐like penetration. After gynecologic staging surgery, pathology showed no residual tumor, pelvic lymphadenopathy, adnexal and omental involvement, and negative abdominal washing cytology. Two years later, the patient developed a rare and intriguing event: lung metastasis without extrapulmonary involvement. This case underscores the importance of transvaginal ultrasonography in understanding the risk factors of distant metastasis in early endometrial cancer.
