Transabdominal Ultrasound‐Guided Transcervical Submucosal Uterine Leiomyoma Resection: A Case Report
ABSTRACT Hysteroscopic resection is considered the gold standard treatment for the removal of submucous uterine leiomyoma (SMLs). However, when hysteroscopic equipment is unavailable, alternative treatment approaches must be explored. In this case report, we present a video demonstrating the transcervical resection of an SML performed under transabdominal ultrasonography guidance on a patient with persistent abnormal uterine bleeding. A 37 mm Type 0 leiomyoma was successfully removed in 9 min without any complications. Six months postoperatively, the patient conceived spontaneously and delivered a healthy infant at term. This case suggests that, in the absence of hysteroscopic access, transcervical removal of SMLs using ring forceps under ultrasound guidance may serve as a safe and feasible alternative.
